Getting Inside the Minds of Agents...and Editors

Wednesday January 7, 2009
If you're interested in working in any profession it's invaluable to read about the career trajectories, and mindsets, of the people who work in that field. How did they get their start? What's their day like? What do they like most about their job? Least?

To that end, there's a great series of Q&A's with book editors and literary agents from Poets & Writers called, not surprisingly, Agents & Editors. (This month the Q&A is with four up-and-coming young agents.) The Q&A's are recommended reading for anyone who's interested in a career as an editor or agent -- or any career in book publishing for that matter -- since they give you a sense of what it might be like to be on the job.
